Andy Ballentyne has started riding the Full Gas Cycling LVVP winter Track League in the 'B' group and has picked up a few placings in the three meetings he has ridden so far.
Andy Ballentyne rode World Masters' track champs in Manchester. He was 14th in the Scratch heat after getting boxed in with a few laps to go – first 12 to qualify; and then in the points heat he picked up a point in the first sprint that would have seen him through to the final but was then caught up in a crash and suffered nasty bruising and a haematoma on his hip. Needlessly to say he didn’t then finish!
Andy Ballentyne rode the LVRC National Championships at the velodrome in Newport and recorded the following results:
Points race - 8th with 3 point
500m TT – 39.88 (setting 50-54 club record)
2km TT – 2.36.1 (setting 50-54 club record)
Scratch race - 5th
NB he was feeling the effects of the points race in his legs for the timed events but perked up for the scratch!
